Back, but not for long…

We had a most wonderful time at the long-awaited Eastern League All-Star Game…more details can be found over on Tales From the Ballpark and Six Great States.

But since there’s not much to do in Manchester when there’s not a ball game going on, we checked out of the hotel at around 11AM and headed towards home. The problem is that it is difficult to impossible to find affordable parking on weekdays. Parking at the hotel was free, but once you check out, so does your car.

That’s why we mostly go to Fisher Cats games on the weekends, parking is plentiful and often free then. Also, for this All-Star Game thingy, we chose to stay over because we knew it would be a late night, and we didn’t want to be driving home when tired and perhaps had *a few too many*.

The hotel was well worth it, though, we loved it, and having the room facing the ballpark.
———-
Anyhoo, tomorrow we are off again, this time to Maine.  We are going to stay with Dan, and go to a Sea Dogs game.  On Saturday, I have to go to the Seashore Trolley Museum…yawn, but if I do, I get rewarded with a trip to Federal Jack’s.

Honestly, I’d much rather go out on a boat someplace up there, and I might just get my wish.  It’s been wicked hot lately, and it should be hot through the weekend.  Since the Trolley Museum is pretty much all outside, I know that Mike will only be able to take the heat for so long.  So he might either decide not to want to go there, or not stay for very long.

I know he loves the place, but I find it yawningly boring after about an hour.  I’d better bring my iPod and stuph to read.  And I’ll probably Twitter once again about how boring it all is.

I swear, though…if the temp is over 80 degrees, and he wants to stay there for three hours or more (the length of a typical baseball game), I NEVER again want to hear him bitch about the heat at ANY ball game, ever again.  This might be a challenge, as we have a Fisher Cats game on Sunday, and it’s supposed to be wicked hot.  Okay, at this ballpark, we can always retreat to the Sam Adams Bar & Grill that’s in the ballpark, and has a view of the game.  But, why is it okay for HIM to bitch about the heat, but not me?

Mike bitched about the heat a little last night, at the All-Star Game.  I told him that he could go back to the room if he wanted, but he didn’t.  I was also a little annoyed because he refused to stop at the ATM at our bank to get money, he swore we had enough to buy beer and food at the ballpark.  Turned out we ran a bit short…and so I had to stand in this long-assed line at the one ATM at the ballpark.  Then he got pissed because that ATM charged $2.00.  Well, that’s what you get for not stopping at our own bank on the way out, where all ATM withdrawals are free?  Sheesh!

Yanno, if I do have to be bored to tears at that damned trolley museum, I think I should get BOTH Federal Jack’s AND a scenic lighthouse cruise.  The boat ride would be welcome, as it’s MUCH cooler on the water!

We shall see how it goes!  I’m hoping that we can somehow both do what we want to do.

See ya on the flip side! ;)

It’s been an up and down day…

July 15, 2008 i'm User Imagechristine, and I approved this message!

I’ve been busy doing stuph with my blogs…I added them all to Entrecard, for one thing.  Then I read that Entrecard had teamed up with something called SezWho, which, when linked together, give members EC credits for leaving quality comments.  Sounded cool to me, so I signed up and installed it on all of my blogs.

I also set up Utterz to cross-post on this and on fenwayfaithful.com.  I want to be able to post friom my phone from the Eastern League All-Star Game tomorrow.  Flickr is good for photoblogging, but it can’t cross-post.  I wanted my pics to show up on this AND the baseball blog, I tested it a coupla times (that is what the two previous posts were), and it is working fine.

I FINALLY was able to get Twitter to work with my current phone.  So now I’m back on Twitter, my username is still catmommy9, for those who wish to follow me.  I also set up Twitterfeed on my blogs, so that blog posts are Twittered.

I managed to do all of that, despite the fact that I had a rather nasty anxiety attack today.  For the most part, I’ve been doing okay with just the Prozac, but today, I was having weird sensations, fear of death, etc.  That is what the Ativan is for…for times like this.  I’m really trying not to take those things, but once in a while, I still need them.  I only had to take one today, which is good, I suppose.

I HATE the fact that I now need meds in order to function.  But trust me, the feelings of anxiety are REAL, even though I KNOW that I have been checked from head to toe, there is nothing physically wrong with me, and I should NOT be fearing that every little ache or pain means imminent death.  But that is what the anxiety attacks do to you, that is why I went to the ER three times in two weeks.  You know how much I hate doctors and hospitals, I was really freakin’ scared to be going to one at all!

But at least I get to have my life back…sort of.  There is still all of the insurance company crap to deal with.

Anyhoo, tomorrow, we are headed up to Manchester, NH, for the long-awaited Eastern League All-Star Game.  Chances are, I won’t need any Ativan at all during the overnight trip, but I will bring it anyway, that and the Prozac (which I have to take daily anyway, it’s bad to go off it without a doctor’s guidance).  Maybe I just need to get away for a bit.

And then we have another trip to Maine, where we will go to a Sea Dogs game, and stay with Dan in York Beach.  Once again, Mike is bribing me into going to the Seashore Trolley Museum with him on Saturday…if I do, we get to go to the not-too-far Federal Jack’s Brewpub, which is one of my favorite places in the whole wide world.  And yes, in exchange for having to look at boring trolley cars, he can buy me a $24 lobster roll, if that is what they still cost these days!  LOL! ;)

Damn, I NEED to get away, big time!  I’ll be back Thursday night, but we’re outta here again on Friday, back on Saturday night.

And, as I mentioned earlier, Utterz will be posted both here and on my baseball blog.  The hotel also has a free computer to use, so I might possibly blog from it!
